Keep Apache Culture Strong

OUR MISSION

Preserving Native Wisdom

The Blue Mountain Clan is a group of traditional Apache Crown Dancers from Mescalero, New Mexico.
With every step of the Crown Dance we share the wisdom of our elders, we honor our ancestors, protect our community, and ensure the vibrant preservation of our culture.
We are guardians of heritage for generations to come.
HOW TO SUPPORT

Support Our Mission

You can support us by joining our mailing list and staying in touch.

Bring the Crown Dance back to Apache Pass

In fall of 2024, the group of 35 Prayer Warriors would like to revisit their sacred homelands at Apache Pass, Arizona.

Help us make this come true by signing up on the mail list, to learn how to nurture and strengthen the land and spirits as well as the human communities with these ancient Earth-based practices from The People who lived and prayed on this land for centuries.

OUR WORK

Sharing With Our Community

We are committed to sharing our knowledge of Apache culture through service to others, within and beyond our community, for the common good.

Crown Dance Ceremonies

We serve our community with medicine, prayers and blessings through sacred Crown Dance ceremonies.

Teaching Apache Language

We work in the school and with families in the reservation teaching Apache language to the young generations.

Embracing Traditions

We actively share our knowledge by embracing our traditions, fostering understanding and appreciation of Apache culture.

Traditional Teepee

Today, the teepee stands as a testament to the ingenuity and resilience of our culture. By understanding its construction and purpose, you can gain a deeper appreciation for our connection to the natural world and our enduring cultural heritage.
